We Rise Together Interactive Theater events empower neurodivergents, bring families together, and raise awareness in communities.
At the core of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, is awareness of one's own autonomy and agency, and that of others.
In the First Session of We Rise Together Interactive Theater, neurodivergent individuals together develop and write a scene that they present to their family, friends, and community, in the Second Session.
When we take ownership of who we are and what we want and need, and come from the heart, the curtain behind which all that would control us or assume power over us, is pulled aside, revealing us to ourselves.
You and I may not agree, but we can speak to each other, and through dialogue we can figure out a solution or resolution together. In so doing, we will understand each other better and our relationship will be stronger for it.
We Rise Together Interactive Theater events take place over two days.
DAY ONE: 3 hours
Meet and plan scenario/play
DAY TWO: 2 hours
Perform the play for an audience of friends and family who can participate by switching out any role.
The training is free. We do ask that you make a donation to help cover the cost incurred by our volunteer facilitators. Until funded, these efforts are out of pocket. Your donation to cover gas and time for those volunteering to provide these events may well retain their effort and time for more events.
We strongly encourage families, friends, and the community to attend. Audiences participate and offer possibilities for dealing with scenarios that abuse, demean, suppress, persecute, tyrannize, and subjugate individual neurodivergents and as a group. A goal of the experience is that ND participants come away able to identify their wants and needs so that they can be in charge of their own life, formulate strategies for their personal development and professional goals, and plan accordingly with the help of their team (family and friends). They are the lead facilitator for their support team.
These exercises and techniques have been used all over the world in areas of conflict to bring peace. After fifteen years of watching the transformative power of these exercises for prison inmates and training and coaching children and law students in communication, the original facilitator designed We Rise Together Interactive Theater for neurodivergent people, to train and provide the tools for an independent, self-directed life.
Your ongoing donations, tips, monthly patronage, and purchases, fund the mission to update outdated inherently ableist, and abusive laws that subject neurodivergent people to be dismissed, demeaned, mistreated, abused, and banished from the reach of eudaimonia. By subscribing and sharing regularly, you put the message out there that we all need to Get it right - Empowering neurodivergents empowers us all.
The Get it Right Store is the primary source for funding both We Rise Together Interactive Theater for Neurodivergents and On the Spectrum In a Crisis Safety Training which are provided free. We ask for a donation to help our volunteer facilitators cover the cost incurred to bring to you and facilitate the two-day event.
